Meet Your Host:

Heather McCutchen | Former Admissions Reader, Dartmouth College

  • MFA, Playwrights’ Workshop, University of Iowa
  • BA, Dartmouth College

As an internationally recognized playwright and novelist, I bring 26 years of experience in Ivy League admissions. I obtained my MFA from the University of Iowa Playwrights’ Workshop and served as a Senior Fellow in playwriting at Dartmouth College, where I graduated Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude.

I was awarded a grant from the Kennedy Center’s Fund for New American Plays, a collaboration with the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities. My first fantasy novel, LightLand, published by Scholastic/Orchard Books, received a starred review in Publishers Weekly.

I reside with my husband and children in a farmhouse in Connecticut.
